Texas Rangers Extend Jersey Patch Partnership with Energy Transfer Through 2030

The Texas Rangers have secured long-term continuity with a key commercial partner, announcing an extension of their multi-year deal with Energy Transfer, one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in the United States. The Dallas-based company will remain the Rangers’ official jersey patch sponsor through at least the end of the decade, ensuring consistent visibility both on and off the field.

More Than a Patch: Community Commitment

Energy Transfer first partnered with the Rangers in 2018, making a major contribution to the Texas Rangers MLB Youth Academy at Mercy Street Sports Complex in West Dallas. The new agreement goes beyond brand placement, embedding community investment at the heart of the deal:

  • Annual Field Renovations (from 2027): The Rangers Baseball Foundation and Energy Transfer will refurbish one baseball field or public park each year across Dallas, creating safe, modern spaces for youth sports.
  • Baby Jersey Initiative (from 2027): In partnership with Medical City Healthcare, co-branded baby jerseys will be gifted to newborns in Dallas County hospitals. Rangers and Energy Transfer staff will personally deliver these jerseys, marking a symbolic gesture of community connection.
  • Volunteer Integration: Both organizations will give employees the opportunity to actively participate in grassroots activations, reinforcing the partnership’s local impact.

Strategic Branding

Energy Transfer’s jersey patch has been visible on every Rangers uniform since the sponsorship category launched across Major League Baseball, featuring prominently in stadium sales, broadcasts, and digital channels. With 26 of 30 MLB clubs now signed to jersey patch deals, the Rangers’ renewal reflects the stability and long-term value of this sponsorship model.

Voices from Both Sides

“Energy Transfer is pleased to continue as the official jersey patch partner of the Texas Rangers,” said Vicki Granado, Vice President of Corporate Communications at Energy Transfer. “We are also proud to extend our relationship beyond the ballpark as we look forward to playing a role in helping create unforgettable memories in our Dallas community.”

Jim Cochrane, Rangers Chief Business Officer, added: “Our shared vision for serving the community in our own backyard and inspiring future generations will help make a lasting impact beyond the field.”

Why It Matters

For the Rangers, the extension ensures long-term sponsorship stability in an increasingly competitive patch market. For Energy Transfer, it provides a platform that blends brand visibility with civic contribution, reinforcing its local identity in Dallas while aligning with baseball’s family-centric image.

The initiative highlights a growing trend in U.S. sports sponsorships: corporate deals that balance exposure with authentic community activation.
