Supertri, the high-octane short-course triathlon series, has confirmed an extended broadcast partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) to deliver live coverage of all 2025 Supertri League events. This agreement reinforces the series’ position as one of the most media-forward sports properties in endurance racing today.
As part of the new deal, Supertri events will be shown live across Europe via Eurosport and on TNT Sports in the UK and Ireland. On-demand coverage will be available on HBO Max and discovery+, widening Supertri’s reach into digitally savvy audiences across multiple territories.
The first race under this agreement will take place in Toronto, Canada on 26 July, followed by Chicago (23 August), Jersey, UK (21 September) and Toulouse, France (5 October). All venues are in urban city centres, carefully chosen to reflect the league’s “made for digital and broadcast” approach.
Elite athletes including Olympic champions Cassandre Beaugrand, Alex Yee, Jonny Brownlee, and Georgia Taylor-Brown are set to headline the 2025 calendar. With the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics on the horizon, this agreement sets the stage for expanding triathlon’s global fan base through both elite competition and community participation.
Michael D’hulst, Supertri’s CEO and co-founder, called the deal a major step forward.
“Supertri is expanding rapidly in the USA and is riding a wave of momentum for short course triathlon into the LA Olympics in 2028… The ability to reach more people than ever before via HBO Max is extremely exciting.”
Trojan Paillot, SVP of Sports Rights at Warner Bros. Discovery Sports Europe, added:
“We are delighted to expand our partnership with Supertri to help the sport reach even more people around the world. This enables us to continue telling the stories of triathlon and its superstar athletes between Olympic cycles.”
Positioning Supertri as a Tier-1 Broadcast Property
At 365247 Consultancy, we view this partnership as a masterclass in narrative-driven sports broadcasting. Supertri is doing three things particularly well:
- Urban Venue Strategy: Choosing city centres maximises live event atmosphere while providing picturesque and immersive backdrops for television and streaming audiences.
- Digital-First Framing: Supertri has understood the shift in sports consumption—from traditional weekend viewers to always-on digital audiences. Multi-platform accessibility via HBO Max and discovery+ reflects the future of niche sport growth.
- Olympic Cycle Bridging: By creating compelling content between Olympic Games, Supertri is filling a vacuum in the endurance sports calendar, turning fleeting Olympic stars into year-round stories.
