McLaren Racing has released its 2024 Sustainability Report, spotlighting bold strides in environmental responsibility, circular innovation, and workforce inclusion. At the heart of this year’s progress: a major investment in Sustainable Aviation Fuel certificates (SAFc)—a move that covered 100% of McLaren’s business air travel emissions.
Key 2024 Sustainability Highlights:
- 8.6% total GHG emissions reduction vs. 2023 (pre-SAF)
- 1 million gallons of SAF funded, eliminating air travel emissions across all racing series
- 48% cut in F1 road freight emissions through biofuel use
- 23% drop in emissions per race compared to last season
- 37% material circularity in F1 Constructor operations
- Opened the Optimum Nutrition McLaren Performance Hub to support team wellbeing
- 43% of new hires came from underrepresented backgrounds, now 33% of the total team
- 30% of early careers talent are women, with growing investment in pathways into STEM
McLaren remains the only motorsport team with externally validated net-zero targets via the Science-Based Targets initiative. In addition to environmental progress, McLaren continues to champion diversity, inclusion, and performance-driven wellbeing, investing in both planet and people.
As CEO Zak Brown put it:
“In the same year as winning the F1 Constructors’ Championship, we’ve proven that sustainability and performance are not mutually exclusive—they fuel each other.”
McLaren Racing continues to set the benchmark for sustainability in motorsport—on and off the track.
