India vs England Test Series Breaks Digital Viewership Records

The recently concluded India–England Test series, widely regarded as one of the most thrilling contests in recent memory, has set new milestones in online cricket viewership. Streaming platform JioHotstar reported over 170 million viewers for the series—making it the most-watched Test series ever on a digital platform.

The climax came during the dramatic fifth Test at The Oval, where 13 million concurrent viewers tuned in on day five, marking the highest peak audience for a Test match streamed online.

With intense cricket action and unpredictable twists, Indian fans collectively amassed 65 billion minutes of watch time. This series also launched India’s campaign in the 2025–27 ICC World Test Championship, ushered in a leadership shift, and reaffirmed the team’s ambitions in red-ball cricket. Coverage reached wider audiences through broadcasts in five languages—English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada.

Siddharth Sharma, Head of Content, Sports at JioStar, credited the record-breaking engagement to both the quality of cricket and the platform’s immersive presentation.

Complementing the live action, fans engaged with exclusive features such as Follow The Blues, offering daily behind-the-scenes access, and When India Challenged the Crown, which revisited India’s historic Test victories in England.

JioStar now aims to carry this momentum into the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, starting September 30, promising fans comprehensive and interactive coverage.
