FanCode Secures Exclusive Rights to UEFA Women’s Champions League in India

UEFA has added another major broadcast partner for the 2025-26 UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL) season, with Indian sports streaming platform FanCode acquiring exclusive rights to the competition. The move further strengthens UEFA’s global media footprint while advancing the visibility of women’s football across emerging markets like India.

Exclusive Access and Free Weekly Fixtures

Under the new agreement, FanCode will stream all 75 matches of the 2025-26 UWCL campaign live across its digital platforms, including the FanCode app and website. To ensure accessibility, the platform will also offer one free fixture per match week, opening up the tournament to a broader Indian audience.

FanCode’s coverage kicked off with Juventus’ draw against Benfica, while defending champions Arsenal suffered an early setback with a loss to Lyon at Meadow Park in London. Other key opening fixtures included Barcelona’s commanding 7-1 victory over Bayern Munich, and a draw between Paris FC and Belgium’s Leuven.

Expanding Women’s Sports in India

Yannick Colaco, co-founder of FanCode, emphasized the platform’s role in driving visibility for women’s sport in India:

“The UEFA Women’s Champions League represents the pinnacle of women’s club football, and we are delighted to bring it to fans in India. Women’s sports in India have gained significant traction in recent years, and at FanCode, we are proud to play our role in enabling access to marquee global events.”

The addition of the UWCL further diversifies FanCode’s women’s sports portfolio, which already includes rights to the UEFA Women’s European Championship, the English Women’s Super League, the Ladies European Tour (golf), and several leading women’s T20 cricket leagues.

New Format, Bigger Stage

The 2025-26 UWCL season marks a significant structural evolution for the tournament. UEFA has introduced a new league phase featuring 18 teams, replacing the traditional group stage. This will be followed by a playoff round before progressing to the knockout stages.

The league phase, which began this week, includes six matchdays through mid-December, with the knockout rounds set to start in February 2026. The campaign will conclude at the Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo, Norway, in May 2026 — setting the stage for one of the most competitive editions in the tournament’s history.

FanCode’s acquisition of the UWCL rights is a landmark moment for women’s sport in India. It signals the platform’s commitment to bridging the gap between global women’s competitions and Indian audiences, while reinforcing UEFA’s ambition to expand its digital reach beyond traditional European markets.

As women’s football continues to scale new heights in participation, performance, and commercial visibility, partnerships like this one are laying the foundation for a global, gender-inclusive sports ecosystem — where elite women’s competitions are accessible, celebrated, and commercially sustainable.
