DHL Named Global Logistics Partner of FIA, Expands Motorsport Commitment

DHL has officially deepened its footprint in international motorsport through a new global logistics partnership with the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA). The agreement will see DHL take responsibility for transporting and managing critical infrastructure for racing events across Formula 1, Formula 2, and Formula 3.

As part of the partnership, DHL will handle the end-to-end logistics of mobile office units, race control infrastructure, garage setups, and trackside signaling equipment. This includes setup and ongoing operational support at circuits around the world.

This move adds to DHL’s already substantial motorsport portfolio, which includes ongoing roles as the Official Logistics Partner for Formula 1, Formula E, and the World Endurance Championship (WEC).

Sustainability at the Core

A standout element of the partnership is a joint focus on sustainable logistics solutions. In Europe, DHL will deploy seven trucks powered by Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO), a biofuel alternative that helps reduce CO₂ emissions compared to conventional diesel. This aligns with both organizations’ broader goals to decarbonize operations and implement environmentally responsible practices.

Paul Fowler, Head of Global Motorsports Logistics at DHL, emphasized the synergy between the two organizations: “This partnership reflects shared values of precision, innovation, and sustainability. We are not just moving equipment—we are working towards transforming how motorsport logistics operates globally, with a strong emphasis on climate responsibility.”

Driving Sustainable Change in Motorsport

FIA’s Chief Commercial Officer, Craig Edmondson, noted that the collaboration goes beyond logistics: “Our work with DHL represents a broader mission—to embed sustainability into every aspect of motorsport. From track operations to partnerships, we are focused on long-term impact and leading the way toward a greener motorsport ecosystem.”

The partnership underlines the increasing role of logistics as a lever for innovation and change in global motorsport—where not just speed, but sustainability, is becoming a defining competitive edge.
