World Rugby has announced Allianz as an Official Supporter of the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025, confirming that Allianz Stadium will host the tournament’s final on 27 September 2025.
The competition, returning to England for the first time since 2010, will run from 22 August to 27 September across seven host cities, featuring 16 teams vying for the new tournament trophy. Organisers anticipate that the final could set a new attendance record for women’s rugby, aiming to surpass the 66,000 spectators recorded at the Stade de France during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The announcement follows Allianz’s historic 2023 deal securing naming rights to the stadium in partnership with England Rugby – the first time such rights have been granted for a Rugby World Cup venue. Beyond hosting the final, the partnership supports England’s men’s and women’s national teams and funds youth development programmes.
As part of its tournament engagement efforts, Allianz has teamed up with fan engagement platform Stepathlon to launch The Road to Allianz Stadium. The campaign challenges fans to collectively walk the equivalent distance from Sunderland’s Stadium of Light – site of the opening match – to the final’s venue.
