Aland Health Holding Explores Potential $1.5 Billion Sale Amid Global Wellness Boom

Aland Health Holding, a China-based multinational nutritional supplement producer, is reportedly exploring the sale of a controlling stake, with a target valuation exceeding $1.5 billion, according to individuals familiar with the matter.

The company’s founder and chairman, Chang Liang, is said to own roughly 60% of the business, while the remainder is held by investment firms such as Affinity Equity Partners, Goldman Sachs Growth Equity, and Henderson Investment Corp.

Strong Financial Performance & Market Appeal
Aland is on track to achieve around $150 million in annual EBITDA for 2024. Early interest in the sale has reportedly come from both strategic industry buyers and private equity groups. The firm’s significant U.S. presence — primarily through its subsidiary International Vitamin Corporation (IVC) — is viewed as a key attraction for potential acquirers looking to tap into the growing wellness market and strengthen domestic manufacturing capabilities.

Global Expansion & Production Scale
Founded in 1998, Aland has evolved into a global player with over 5,000 employees, 11 manufacturing facilities, and four R&D centers spanning Asia, North America, and Europe. Through IVC, it operates major U.S. production sites, including facilities in South Carolina acquired from GNC in 2019.

The company manufactures more than 30 billion tablets, 9 billion softgels, 6 billion capsules, and 16,000 metric tons of powder annually. Its product portfolio includes branded health supplements, over-the-counter remedies, and private-label vitamins supplied to leading retailers such as Walmart and Costco.

Industry Context
The global nutritional supplements market, valued at $485.6 billion in 2024, is projected to reach $704.3 billion by 2030, according to Grand View Research. The sector’s growth, coupled with shifting global supply chains and increased U.S. manufacturing initiatives, could make this sale a pivotal moment for both Aland and the wider nutraceutical industry.
