Nigerian sportsbook giant Bet9ja has entered into a high-profile sponsorship agreement with fast-rising British heavyweight boxer Moses Itauma.
At just 20 years old, Itauma — who has strong Nigerian roots — has already built an impressive professional record since debuting in 2023, winning 10 of his 12 bouts by stoppage. The new partnership comes ahead of what is set to be the biggest test of his career: a headline clash against former world title contender Dillian Whyte in Saudi Arabia on 16 August.
As part of the deal, Bet9ja’s branding will feature on Itauma’s training apparel and his team’s ringside gear. Fans can also expect exclusive behind-the-scenes videos and digital content from the boxer, to be shared across Bet9ja’s social media channels.
Speaking about the partnership, Itauma said:
“My Nigerian heritage has always been a source of pride, and this partnership connects me even more closely to my roots. As I prepare for the biggest fight of my career, I’m honoured to represent Bet9ja and look forward to bringing championship belts back to my father’s homeland.”
Tom Beck, Head of Content and Social Media at Logifuture, the technology partner powering Bet9ja, praised Itauma’s talent and connection to Nigeria:
“Moses is one of the most exciting young fighters in world boxing. His Nigerian heritage makes him a perfect fit for Bet9ja, and his journey resonates deeply with our audience. We’re excited to showcase his story and give fans unique access as he continues to rise on the global stage.”
This latest move strengthens Bet9ja’s presence in the sports sponsorship space, following its continued backing of Nigeria’s national football team through the “Let’s Do It Again” campaign ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
